How to choose the right insurance
Is it true that network doctors in a medical insurance scheme are of low quality?
Some medical insurance schemes in the market provide network doctor options. However, some people seem to have a negative perception on the quality of the network doctors. As a matter of fact, insurance companies put a lot of importance on vetting the quality of network doctors.
At Bupa, for example, we have a very strict standard of quality for network doctors to meet. When signing on a doctor, we conduct a quality assessment. Assessment criteria include doctor’s qualification, experience in the relevant registered specialty, facilities of the clinic, handling procedures of patient records for the purpose of privacy protection, administration of drugs, and on-the-job training of nursing staff. To make sure customers receive the best medical service, we have a standard procedure in place to handle members’ complaints on medical services.
Useful tip:
When choosing a medical insurance scheme, in addition to the quality of network doctors, subscribers should also look at several aspects. Examples are the coverage of the scheme, reimbursement details, and reputation of the insurance company.
